When to look at it

Glance between fights, not during them. Check before you cross open ground, before a rotation, and right after a scrap when you want to know if someone watched the whole thing. Mid-fight, the ESP overlay in front of you beats a radar you have to decode.

What it is best at

Vehicles and third parties are what it earns its keep on, because both flip a fight faster than you can spot them the normal way. A helicopter skimming behind a treeline, or a second squad closing while you're still finishing the first, shows up as a blip seconds before it would ever enter your view. Those seconds decide the fight.

Range, and why wider is not better

A radar tuned to everything tells you nothing useful. A contact three map squares away isn't a decision, it's noise, and every extra blip slows down the reads that actually matter. Size the ring to ground you could realistically reach, or be reached from, inside the next half minute.

Pairing it with the overlay

They split the work neatly. Radar says something exists and gives you a rough bearing; ESP names it, shows its health, and settles whether it's worth your ammo. The loop that works is notice on the radar, confirm with the overlay, then commit.
