Tune in a real match

Settings that feel right standing still in a menu behave differently once you and the target are both moving. Change one value, play a few engagements, change it again. Adjusting five sliders at once tells you nothing about which one caused the difference.

What each control is actually for

• FOV — how far off-centre a target can be before it counts. The single strongest influence on whether assist looks plausible
• Smoothing — how fast the view travels. Low values snap; high values look like a hand
• Prediction and prediction speed — handles targets that are moving, which is most of them
• Target hitbox — head or chest. Chest is more forgiving and far less conspicuous
• Aim distance — stops assist engaging at ranges you had no business shooting at
• Visibility check — prevents tracking through geometry, and matters more than any other toggle here

Bind it and use the bind

Because the aim key is user-set, assist only applies while you hold it. Holding it permanently gives away the thing the setting exists to protect. Press it for the engagement, release it afterwards, and the rest of your movement stays unambiguously yours.

Save what works

Once a configuration survives a few sessions, write it to a config so you are not rebuilding it from memory. It also gives you something to return to after experimenting, which makes it much easier to try an aggressive setup and actually go back.
